Take advantage of the French “re-entry” to catch some fresh energy and get back to work.

One of the things I love about living in France is the clarity between work and play. Especially the shift from summer holidays back to work and school. The “rentrée” is a time to re-enter the real world after stepping away for a summer break. In the US we see a lot of “back to school” messaging, but what about the working adults? I can wax nostalgic about fresh pencils and new shoes. I want a fresh start too! So the lovely French rentrée opens up this energetic rush of a new start to everyone! It’s time to take advantage of the bustling new season! Clean the office, get to work and, maybe even buy some new shoes just for fun!

From pancakes to clementines, keeping our energy high this winter.

Photo — Kristi Sanse

Yesterday was pancake day. Thoughts of comfort food was just what many of us needed! Today I am inspired by a simpler winter pleasure, a sweet little clementine. Since living in France these have become a standard part of our winter kitchen scenery. A bowl of clementines on the table looking happy. The smell of ripped open peels making the whole place smell happy. I’m sorry this is not a scratch-n-sniff image, it smells amazing! Winter starts to drag around now, so remember to take care of your self. So find a clementine and enjoy!
